Selonda Aquaculture SA, member of the Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization (HAPO), received the Fish from Greece certification from the auditing and certification body TÜV HELLAS (TÜV NORD).

The certification was in accordance with the standards of the Fish from Greece protocol, owned by HAPO, which concerns sustainable aquaculture and the promotion of high-quality Greek fish.

With the acquisition of the Fish from Greece certification, the fish distributed by the company can have a Fish from Greece tag. These fish have guaranteed freshness and a certified high omega-3 content. One of the specific characteristics of the certification is that, besides the annual supervisory audits required to maintain its validity, there will also be unannounced inspections conducted by independent organizations in order to ensure conformance to the 6 main pillars defined in the protocol:

  2. Farming Environment & Fish Stock Management
  3. Fish Welfare
  4. Quality Characteristics of the Farmed Fish
  5. Food Safety
  6. Social Responsibility in Aquaculture
