Press Release – Korfos Multi Races SELONDA 2019

Selonda proudly announces that the company will be the golden sponsor of a top athletic event named “Korfos Multi Races SELONDA 2019”. The event will take place on Saturday, June 15th and Sunday, June 16th, 2019 and will include, running races, swimming races and extreme aquathlon:

  • Adult 5km and 15km running races and a children’s 500m running race
  • 1.5 km and 4 km adult swimming races and a children’s 150m swimming race
  • Extreme aquathlon: 1 km swimming / 10 km running / 1 km swimming

These games allow all who take place to test their limits while running in a wonderful natural landscape and swimming in the clear, azure seas of the Aegean Sea’s Saronic Gulf.

The starting point for the 4 km swimming race on June 16th will be at Selonda Bay, where our company’s history began. The swimmers will swim through the bay next to the SELONDA fish growing in their natural environment.

The lead, golden sponsorship of the event is of great importance to Selonda as it:

  • Highlights Selonda Bay, its clean waters and the sustainable cultivation of nutritional and tasty SELONDA fish in those waters for over three decades.
  • Confirms the cleanliness of the environment where the swimming races will take place, for which Selonda carries out the strictest procedures and control tests. Aquaculture cannot exist without a clean environment.
  • Displays the great importance of fitness and athleticism and of the Mediterranean Diet, to which Selonda continuously contributes.
  • Emphasizes Selonda’s social responsibility towards the local community.

The institutions and associations organizing the events are the Region of Korinthia, the Center of Culture, Sporting and Environment of the city of Corinth, the community of Korfos, and the society “Cultural Action Korfos” in cooperation with the sporting club “Triathlon Club Corinth Canal”.
