Selonda ASC Certification

Selonda is proud to announce its certification with the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) standard for Sea Bass and Sea Bream, in accordance with the corporate principles of sustainable development and social responsibility.

ASC is an independent, international non-profit organization that certifies environmentally and socially responsible aquaculture. The ASC standard defines strict specifications for producers in order to minimize the environmental and social imprint.

With ASC certification Selonda reconfirms the responsible practices that the company implements, having obtained for many years a complete range of certifications covering corresponding goals. Selonda is the only Mediterranean Aquaculture company that has been certified at all its production facilities with GlobalGAP version 5.0 and ISO 14001:2015 / Energy – which are primarily related to the global standards for Good Aquaculture Practices and Environmental Management – along with OHSAS 18001:2008 for the company’s Workplace Health and Safety Management System. In fact, Selonda recently received the Health & Safety Award 2019 as recognition for the employee health and safety management practices being implemented.

Athanasios Skordas, President and CEO of Selonda S.A., made the following statement on the certification: “The Selonda corporate policies and culture are fully aligned with the principles of sustainable development and social responsibility. The ASC standard is the optimal way to certify that Selonda has adopted and implements safe and sustainable practices today and in order to grow in the future.”
