Selonda fresh Greek Sea Bream in a new, branded packaging

Selonda has launched fresh, cleaned Greek Sea Bream in a specially designed tray at stores of the supermarket chain “My Market”. The launch is being supported by a radio advertising campaign as well as point-of-purchase material such as posters and shelf wobblers.

As of Wednesday, October 19th, fresh Greek Sea Bream, under the SELONDA brand name, is available at “My Market” stores cleaned and 100% ready-to-cook in an attractive MAP tray. The main advantage of the new Selonda packaging is that it provides optimal preservation of the Sea Bream’s freshness, nutritional value and tastiness. Also, it fits easily in refrigerator shelves and prevents leakage when transported or stored. As the Sea Bream is already cleaned and pre-weighed in the tray, consumers only pay for the net weight of the product, without being charged for the by-product and without having to wait at the point-of-sale for the fish to be cleaned.

Selonda has been cultivating the “treasures” of the Greek seas for 35 years and exports fresh Greek fish on a daily basis to more than 25 countries. Selonda Sea Bream grows for at least 18 months in the clean, azure seas of the regions of Korinthia, Argolida and Arkadia and are fed with high-quality, certified feed that covers the nutritional requirements at every stage of their development.

Selonda Sea Bream is harvested daily and carefully cleaned at the company’s state-of-the-art, fully-certified processing plant in the area of Epidavros. Afterwards, the fish is packed in an automated packaging plant in accordance with strict food safety standards and swiftly distributed to the points of sale while maintaining the cold chain at 0 to 2 degrees Celsius, in order to maintain the freshness and quality for a longer period of time.

Sea Bream’s nutritional value
Farmed Sea Bream has been recognized by the European Foods Safety Authority as a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids. Sea Bream is one of the freshest fish available in the market due to the fact that it is harvested only upon order. Along with Sea Bass, Sea Bream is rich in vitamins, phosphorus, iodine and calcium, which are all vital nutrients. Sea Bream’s natural fat (omega-3) provides various health benefits, such as lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels, helping to protect against severe illnesses, keeping skin and joints in good condition and contributing significantly to a healthy, balanced diet.
