Superior Taste Award for Selonda Sea Bass for a 3rd Consecutive Year

The International Taste Institute (former iTQi), leader in taste evaluation and certification, awarded 1885 products from around the world in June 2019. One of those products was Selonda Sea Bass, which received a Superior Taste Award with 2 golden stars, corresponding to a remarkable taste.

This is the third consecutive award for Selonda Sea Bass, as it has now received the Superior Taste Award with 2 golden stars in 2017, 2018 and 2019. This distinction clearly demonstrates the consistent quality and outstanding taste of Selonda Sea Bass.

The Taste Institute’s jury is made up of renowned chefs such Alain Nonnet with 2 Michelin stars for 36 years, Gaetano Raguni, winner of Italy Bocuse D’or 2017, Alan Coxon, British Food/Drinks Ambassador and presenter on BBC TV, and Cristina Figueira with 1 Michelin star.

The products are evaluated and given a score based on a strict and objective methodology. When the large panel of independent food and beverage professionals taste the various products they are not aware of the name or origin during the tasting. Besides giving a score, each member of the jury provides comments and recommendations for the product’s further improvement.

Laurent van Wassenhove, Managing Director of the International Taste Institute, stated that “almost 200 renowned chefs and sommelier gathered to provide an objective and professional feedback to producers concerning the taste of their products. Chefs from various organizations, chefs awarded with Michelin stars, awarded sommeliers, all of them come together to evaluate the products submitted to us in a blind test. All products that receive a high taste score are awarded with a Superior Taste Award.

The results of the taste tests are available at the Website of the International Taste Institute at  www.taste-institute.com
